feelin' like a kid again...

Yesterday was my friend's daughter's birthday party at a gymnastics place. Oh my gosh what fun I had jumping on the trampoline! The feeling of freedom was amazning. I wasn't going to get on there for fear that the springs would pop, but boy oh boy after the first attempt it wasn't the last time I jumped on there! :<) Such fun.

Here is my little man in the foam pit. Yep I went in there too! Hopefully that picture will be coming soon, my friend's husband took one with his camera. My little one here turns 4 next month and I am going to call and see if they have any available dates close to his birthday for a party. My fingers are crossed! (I wanna jump again!)

my husband

I took this picture of my husband on our 11 year anniversary last month. I love this picture and all the colors in it.
Just had to add it to my blog!

Coming Along...slow but steady

This is what we started with. Back in 2001 when I was pregnant with Tyler we painted the front bedroom a bright yellow for the nursery. I even stenciled the bugs around the windows, light switch plate and down the middle of the closet doors.
April 1st we started cleaning out the room and prepping to paint. Reed helped us wipe the walls down.
My mom was here during spring break so she was put to work as well. Here she is vacuuming the walls.
We painted the next day...I was too busy painting to take any pictures of that. {opps!}
This weekend I ordered this chair railing online from Lowe's and Eric went out and picked it up Sunday afternoon. He tried to go pick it out, but wasn't having any luck. I wasn't able to go with him because Tyler was sick.
Our corners do not match up so now we need to fill in the corners with caulk or whatever manly thing Eric can find to make it look nice.
Anyway we are going to bunk the boys in one bedroom and this room is going to become the kids playroom. I am so excited about this room for the fact that I can gain control over the TV again {not that I am not in control, I just give in to the kids and let them watch their shows} and the kids will have their own domain to play in and not my living room. Maybe it will be completed before school lets out, but I am not holding my breath. :)

Manic Monday #165

What's the best summer job you ever had?

The one that I currently have had for the past 10 years. None! Gotta love being a teacher and having my summer's off.

Tell me about the worst date you ever went on.

Hmmm...don't think I ever really had a terrible one. A few come to mind but they weren't really that terrible.

Do you think the age for a driver's license should be raised (currently 16 here in the U.S.)?

No, I think 16 is OK. Any younger and I wouldn't be happy with it. Of course my opinion might change as my children get closer to 16.

Wanna play along??? Visit... Manic Monday.

Sick or not? That is the question

You be the judge...
The front office staff buzzes into my classroom today with the announcement that I need to call daycare. My 2nd graders are in the middle of taking a unit language assessment. I give directions for the next section and go stand in the corner and call daycare. The message I receive is that Reed just vomited. OK, next on my call list is Eric. Give directions for the next section of the assessment. Call Eric tell him and he says he will be there to get him within the hour. Since I took off yesterday for Tyler being sick. Give directions to the next section of the assessment. Call daycare back and tell them Eric will be there to get him. Finish giving assessment to my students.
I end up staying at work until 5:15 getting lesson plans done and my classroom set up for teaching tomorrow just in case I am not able to be there.
When I get home Reed is sound asleep on Eric, no more vomiting, no fever, just sleeping. Hmmm...
Cook dinner he decides he doesn't want dinner, OK.
After dinner Tyler plays the Wii and Reed goes into the bedroom to watch Tom and Jerry. I go in with camera in hand...this is how I find him.
Then the poses for the camera start. Here they are...
Before bed the boys always have a snack. Reed wants Cheetos...OK...lets give it a try, oh and he wanted apple juice. He sits on the couch drinks the apple juice and the open bag of snack size Cheetos sits on the couch.
Get the boys in bed and look over at the couch...Cheetos bag still sitting there. I close up the bag and put them in the pantry.
Go in to check on him to see if he is warm and take his temp. Normal temp.
Right now it is about an hour later and he is sound asleep. I am thinking if he sleeps through the night that I am going to work.
What do you think I should do? You know I always have the guilty mom syndrome going on. Work or stay home. I am a teacher and it really is a pain in the rump to get ready for a sub, but then again I am prepared just in case. Just always second guess my choices.

Easter 2009

I had Eric upload the pictures from my camera card this past weekend last night and I just had a chance to go through them and was pleasantly surprised to find this picture. I am very rarely in a picture and decided to hand the camera over to Eric during this egg dyeing event Thursday night.

We were out of town for the weekend go kart racing and Tyler ended up winning Saturday night. On the drive home Sunday Tyler wasn't feeling very well and we had to make a few bathroom stops along the way. I am home with him today and he is finally starting to feel better.

My Champion!

Manic Monday post #163

Do you recycle? Why or why not?
I do recycle and feel it is important for the environment and my children's future. The only sad thing I have to say is that it has to be convenient or else I don't. :(
Would you rather be a pirate or a prince/princess?
I would rather be a princess, even though I am not into the thought of looking like a princess and being all frilly.
Are you into astrology? If yes, how does it affect your life?
I enjoy reading it but don't follow it or have to have it in my life daily. I find it interesting to read when I come across it.
Want to play along...visit Manic Monday.
