Father's Day 2010

Eric wanted to go to Gandar Mountain today so we got up and said goodbye to my parents who have spent the past week here.
I made egg sandwiches for breakfast.
Then Eric headed out to mow. Once he got to the backyard the boys went out to assist.

Tyler helped to mow some of the backyard. He didn't last very long but gave Eric a little bit of a break.

Reed helped with scooping the pool.

After all the outside chores were done we headed to Gandar Mountain. We didn't make a purchase but it was neat looking at all the different items for sale there. We had lunch at Applebe's and then went to Lowes for a small purchase. We ended our outing with a trip to Wal-Mart where the boys got fishing poles for our upcoming trip and I did some grocery shopping.

It was a pleasant Father's Day and once we got back home Eric laid around and rested in bed watching TV.

storytime

Every Tuesday morning for the summer Reed participates in storytime at the public library.
This week's theme was beach. Here is his crab hat.
Think he is happy about it?

Reed is 5!

I don't think there is anything in the world Reed wanted more then to be 5.

He wanted a Hot Wheels cake.
What an ordeal it was to get him a cake.
Our normal cake baker was going to be out of town.
Off to the Nestle Toll House Cookie store only to find out they have gone out of business.
We decided on a Publix cake less then 24 hours before his birthday.
Thankfully they were able to do it!

It was a great little celebration surrounded by those that love him.
Granny,
Pappy,
Mom,
Dad,
Tyler,
Brian, &
Maryelise.

Making his wish!

Recieving a DS Lite so now Tyler and him can verse.

Wordless Wednesday: Wishful...

treasure

One of the things I love about summer vacation is getting to do all those things you never seem to have time to do when school is in session. Monday while out running errands I went passed a Goodwill store that I noticed had opened a few months ago and just never seemed to have time to stop and browse. I made that stop this past Monday. I am glad I did. One thing I always look for whether at a thrift store, antique show, or flea market are Anchor Hocking Fire King white dishes. I found the little bowl in the middle at the Goodwill store for only 49 cents. What a bargain! This makes the 4th piece to my collection maybe someday I will have a whole place setting! {Yea!}

The other thing I look for are glass salt and pepper shakers but they have to be unique and catch my eye. Didn't score any on this particular day.

You just never know where your next treasure will be.

You Capture: Your Best Shot

I have decided to join in on the You Capture challenge posted over at I Should be Folding Laundry.

This week's challenge was to post your best shot.

This photo of my youngest was taken on Sunday afternoon. We had just finished swimming in the pool and he wanted a snack. I told him it had to be healthy. He selected the bag of cherries.
