Project 365 Day 2

Not only am I participating in the Project 365, but I am also participating in a challenge on SS that is a photography challenge to help me learn how to use my new D40 better. Here is one of the pictures that I took for this week's challenge.

So this week's challenge is to take a picture using all of your auto settings on your camera. This picture was taken on the Night Portrait setting using my tripod, so that I could be in the picture as well. This is also my day 2 picture for Project 365.
Here are the details for the picture for those of you that are interested...
Camera make and model: Nikon D40
Lens used: 18-55mm
Shutter Speed: 1
Aperture Value: F5.3
ISOFlash fired: yes

So Eric has been wanting to test things out with the boys and see if they like camping. Last weekend he set up the tent in the backyard, but with my parents being here the boys never got to experience backyard camping. Tonight is the night! After dinner Eric went out and got everything set up for the boys. He used a small charcoal grill to make the campfire in. The wood that he used was left over scraps from when he put the fence up. We didn't have marshmallows for roasting, but the kids were very eager to go in and get snacks to eat while outside sitting by the campfire. They had cookies, gummies, chips, and popcorn. I sure hope neither of them get sick overnight. A little after 8 p.m. Reed announced that he was tired and wanted to go to bed. So inside they eager went to get their pajamas on and brush their teeth. They were back out and into the tent they went. I helped Eric put out the campfire and then he came in to get ready to go to sleep in the tent as well. I on the other hand came inside, because the tent is not big enough for all 4 of us. So I will have a nice king bed all to myself tonight. I am sure it will be heavenly. :0) I hope the 3 of them will make it through the night, it is supposed to be in the 50's tonight.

When I came inside to put these pictures on my computer I was cracking up laughing as I was looking at my youngest son's face in these pictures. I will upload the other 3 that go along with this shot. I have no idea what he was thinking but I find it to be very comical.
