Little bit of spring...

Saw this posted here and had to try out my own version.
Started with this little pot...loved the price.

Stuffed in some foam stuff.

Covered with moss.

Got these ready.

Then took them off their stem.
Started putting the flowers in...
with some hot glue. Note for next time hot glue quickly melts stryofoam.
Almost complete.
Put some more moss on bottom to cover up stryofoam.
Complete!
Every time I walk through my kitchen today I just smile when I look out at this. :0)
Thank you Becky Higgins for the inspiration!
Sneak peak for tomorrow's crafty project.

pantry orgnanization

Yesterday I tackled this much needed task of organizing my pantry. It has been a long time since it has been this bad. It was even to the point that things were just being laid on top of other things. I was going to the grocery store not knowing what was really need. I had 4 bottles of A1 Sauce. I mean seriously I don't need that many bottles stocked up. :-}
BEFORE
...minus some things I had already started to take off the top shelf...

AFTER

This will be a project that you will see again as I hope to get some glass containers and vinyl and really have fun in there. But for now I am happy and it is organized by category. Not sure what I am going to put on the floor in there but for now I like how it is empty. :-) In the red bowl at the top is the dog food and you can see the cat food doesn't have a container but I am working on that. Hopefully will find what I am looking for at the Goodwill soon.

Valentine's Day Fun

At work we do a Secret Pal the week before Valentine's Day and then Valentine's Day is the big reveal. :o}
This is what I did for my final gift...glass etching! Yay, so fun! This was on one side and the other side had a F for her last name. I do not have a Silouette :o{ but I do have a Cricut and I can do some fun things like this. :o}
Reed needed a box for his Valentines and had been sick the week before so Sunday he was finally feeling better and thought we could do his box. Well wouldn't you know he fell asleep right after dinner. So I made it, he thought it was cool! Yay! I used a square tissue box and got my inspiration from February 2010 Family Fun magazine.

The next item was for the person giving me gifts for the Secret pal. This was the drying phase, I later added ribbon to the loop.

I left out these special treats for my husband for Valentine's Day.  Yes, is in the pan as he makes eggs every morning for breakfast.

Sums it up

This picture about sums it up what it was like at our house the week before Valentine's Day.

Oh and remember that yellow frame well this is what I was doing with it. :o} Too bad I didn't realize when putting it together that my life was going to be dealing with sick kids for a week.

Been awhile...

Today my youngest son was home sick and I had over 700 blog posts from Google Reader to catch up on. I got through about 500 of them today and some I just couldn't read just skimmed the pictures. Thank goodness for pictures, if the pictures look interesting then I read it. While I was reading today I came across some wonderful things that I really want to try, but I also came across some fun downloadable/printables that I have taken advantage of. I needed to go to Target tonight to pick up what I had sent for the photo center.
While browsing the end caps {You know where all the clearance items are.} I came across 2 not so lovely white frames.
BEFORE

See the crack in the corner? Oh and check out the price to not too bad!?!

The bottom was dirty too.

Well not to worry nothing a little spray paint won't take care of.

The paint is now drying so hopefully I will be back tomorrow with the finished product.
[I was all giddy using the spray paint, my husband thought I was nuts.]

Covergirl celebrates 50!

Covergirl is celebrating 50 years! Wow!

I remember when I was a little girl and I would watch my sister put on make-up she always used the Covergirl compact. I couldn't wait to start wearing make-up and remember when I finally got my first Covergirl compact.  Covergirl is a favorite make-up brand of mine.

Do you see what I see?

Nevermind the wall. It has been destroyed from the years that we had my boys Hot Wheel table sitting there and cars slamming against the wall.

If you guessed my cat laying on top of the blanket basket instead of on her bed you guessed it!  I wonder if I move her bed on top of the blanket basket if she would lay there.  We have had her a year and I have yet to see her get in her bed.  I guess it was a waste of money. :o]
