It's beginning to look a lot like...

Christmas!

The boy's bathroom cup.

Santa in the kitchen.

Santa plate waiting to be used.

The first musical snow globe that went up.
Elf on the Shelf...so much fun!
I love snowmen and usually leave them up throughout January.
Bigger snowman
Blocks that my boys love to play with, they get moved around where ever they decide.
3 out of 4 of the stockings.  Need to buy one more stocking holder.  I haven't been hanging them I guess for the past 5 years since we have had our youngest and I finally thought about hanging them on the quilt rack.  I think it works out quite well.
By the front door, countdown santa, basket with tins, and the musical stuffed animals (which I need to buy more AA battaries for).
Randomness on top of the sewing machine.
Above the sofa, another snowman collection.  Usually we put the angel snowman on top of the tree, not sure if we will this year or not depends on how I feel once we get the tree up...hopefully tomorrow.
Cleaned and dusted (some pretty thick dust) off of these two shelfs.  Bottom is our Rudolph collection and the one above our what Christmas dishes I have.
Cleaned off the top of the victrola and put the true meaning of Christmas.  Reed was so excited and couldn't wait to see what I took out of the box when I told him that it was the most special of all the Christmas decorations.  Tyler came up with some guesses and then finally guessed correctly. :o)
The little Christmas tree that my sister bought for Tyler when he was a baby because she thought he should have a tree in his room.  It does have a gold star on the top guess.  I also have some tiny ornaments to put on it that I bought one year at an after Christmas sale just need to find tiny hangers to put them on.  Maybe this will be the year they will go on.  You know it is hard to find tiny ornaments for such a small tree.
The kitchen table with the believe banner made last year through a swap.
Hanging on the kitchen slider.
Was so excited when I found this in the Christmas boxes and it had never been burned.  The house smells wonderful right now and will be especially wonderful since we have an artificial tree.
Just complete randomness of stuff I didn't know where to put so I cleaned off a shelf.  The santa key is inside the santa.  The little snow globe is so fun for the boys because it is made out of plastic and goes with a push button on the front.  Little pinecoe trees made by the boys.

I hope you enjoyed my virtual tour of the decorations in my home.  Hopefully tree pictures will come soon.

Just can't get you off my mind...

Christmas that is!

(Christmas morning 2009)

I have already started dreaming about decorating my house for the holiday season. As my magazines arrive...Better Homes and Gardens, Rachael Ray, Family Circle...I am in awe of all the decorating. I want to go to all the thrift stores and see what treasures I can buy that I can decorate for the holidays on a budget.

Not sure why I am so excited this year...is it because...
my parents are coming?
we are going to have a 40th birthday party for Eric the day after?
my boys are excited?
I am super excited and have been creating my Santa list for a few months (in my head)?
all of the above?

Who knows, but I keep devouring my magazines and ripping out ideas and my creative juices are flowing!!! Yea!!!

Weekend Recap

This most certainly was a busy weekend, but it seems like all the recent ones have been lately.
Friday evening was the Fall Festival where I teach and the boys and I were there from opening til closing time.
Saturday morning began with Reed's t-ball game at 11 a.m. where he received the game ball.
Reed plays 3rd base and has been doing pretty well at it. One of the batters hit the ball right to him, he bent down to catch it and it popped out of his glove and hit the underside of his arm right above the elbow. The coaches immediately hovered over him and brought him into the dug out. He sat there with the coaches wife and I watched from the bleachers. How I longed to run to him but knew that would freak him out even more. I did finally walk over and asked him if he was OK once he settled down and got some ice.
He certainly was a brave little man. :)

Here he is admiring the game ball the coaches gave to him.

So proud to show off for a picture. :)

He shared with everyone that he got the game ball because he got hit with the ball and it didn't even hurt. ;0)

Once we left Reed's game we raced over to Tyler's soccer game that started at noon. We arrived just in time to see the last minute or two of the 2nd half. Eric left soon after the game ended because he had softball practice and Reed and I stayed and watched Tyler's scrimmage. When we left the soccer fields we drove past where Eric was practicing. The boys are really excited about Daddy playing softball.

We rested the rest of the day and had take out dinner from Applebee's. Yum-O!

Today we got the boy's Halloween costumes and went to the grocery store, it was a pretty laid back Sunday, thank goodness!

My back has been in pain for about a week now I may go to the dr. and have it checked this week.
