My children...

They simply are beautiful creatures from God!

The big one has been so concerned about me.
I love his compassion and his love for others.
He always wants to do what is right and please!
He knows what I like and what I don't.
He knows that even when I am angry and yell at him, it is all because I love him and want him to be the best.

The little one wants to be big and do what his big brother does.
He loves his big brother so much and looks up to him.
He is sweet and my little love bug.
He will cuddle with you and knows when you need a big giant hug.
He is a little wild and crazy.

They are my world and I couldn't imagine life without these 2 boys!

busy, busy, busy

Wow! It has been over a month since I last blogged.
I feel like my life is spiraling out of control and I have very little time for the computer any more.
We have been watching a lot of this.

Not only is Tyler playing soccer his racing season is coming to an end, school started back about a month ago, and Reed is playing t-ball.
(pics of that to hopefully come soon)
Today school is closed due to the Jewish Holiday.
We are going to have lunch with dad today at his work since we never got a chance to do that during the summer.
Have a great day everyone!

ruffled headband

If you have been keeping up with my posts you will see that I have been into making fabric flowers. Well, on my hunt of fabric flowers I came across this tutorial on how to make a ruffled headband. This morning I loaded up my boys and my coupons to JoAnn's and off we went.
I was originally going to do black but my black headband already had flowers glued to it, so I opted for blue instead. As I was shopping around I found some pins on clearance for $1.97 and picked one up to adorn the bottom of the ruffle.

Check out the tutorial....here.
I watched the actually tutorial after I completed mine and discovered some things I did differently but all in all I think it turned out cute and plan to wear it wth my outfit when I go line dancing Wednesday night!

seriously

I may need mental help soon! I just can't stop myself.
Oh, how am I going to sleep tonight? I just want to make more and more and more and more...

So on my search I found these made into necklaces with simple ribbon that you just tie around your neck. Oh my gosh I can do that! And these types of flowers were made with fabric wider then 1". I just eye balled it and cut the fabric to something thicker and didn't twist as tight.
I think I love it!
I am team leader for the second grade team...I am thinking all the second grade teachers (thankfully they are all female) may have one before long. I hope they love it as much as I do. Such endless possibilities...pin...headband...necklace. Wonder what each would like?

Speaking of school I made myself a name banner. I started yesterday and finished it up today. It was so simple and really didn't take me 2 days to complete I just procrastinated the simple sewing part that I wanted to do. Maybe that will be tomorrow's post...

Tomorrow is exactly 2 weeks before I start back to teaching. What will I do when I won't have time for all my craftiness??? Maybe I will teach my students to make twisted fabric flowers...hmmm...how can I tie that into reading and writing?
Sure I can figure something out! :0}

addicted

I really do think this is going to be my new addiction. {YIKES!}
I wonder how many of these I will make???

I do have plans to buy some fabric in off white and make many of these for a necklace.
Just got to figure out what I am going to use for the necklace part.
Hmmm...maybe I can find some inspiration out there on the net.
Off to search.

fabric flower

I have been...

...reading blogs and I keep seeing all these beautiful fabric flowers.
(on clothing, on headbands, on barattes, just wherever)

...reading tutorials on how to make different fabric flowers.

...failing at my attempts with making flowers that I want to love.

...sharing some OK looking flowers that I have attempted with my friend.

...reading more tutorials.

....scanning the Internet for how to make fabric flowers.

Well tonight I saw a twisted fabric flower that I loved on a blog.
(Just didn't have long enough fabric so I put 2 different designs together.)

Stumbled upon how to make a twisted flower that made sense to me and VIOLA!!!

Can't stop thinking....trash

I just can't stop thinking about trash. I know weird, right?

Last week I saw on some TV show I was watching about how a couple decided to go trash free for a year. I can't remember the number exactly but at the end of the year they had under 20 items of trash in a box. I just can't wrap my brain around how I could do that, but it does have me thinking about things.

There are probably so many more things my family could recycle then what we really do and I am trying to be more aware of those things, but how do I get my husband and children on the same page as me? My children don't really think about those things that can be recycled and just toss it in the garbage.

So I have set out a goal of teaching them about all the things that can be recycled instead of throwing it in the trash.

I know I will still have a lot of trash but at least it will be a start.
